Pedestrian injured by motorist near Shellrock

logo-iowa-state-patrolSHELLROCK, IOWA – A pedestrian was injured Thursday after entering a roadway near Shellrock, Iowa.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, at about 9:20 PM Thursday evening, a 2007 Dodge pickup truck driven by 21 year-old Joshua Rogers of Greene was eastbound on Highway 3 east of Shellrock, Iowa when a pedestrian ran from the north shoulder of the road in front of Rogers’ vehicle. Rogers was unable to stop and struck the pedestrian. The unnamed victim sustained injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The victim’s condition was not released, pending notification of family.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police, Shellrock emergency responders, Waverly ambulance, Covenant Aircare.
