CHARLES CITY – House Democratic Leader Todd Prichard slammed Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds on her latest Covid response, calling it “too little and too late.”
“Governor Reynolds’ COVID-19 response is too little and too late, “House Democratic Leader Todd Prichard said after Kim Reynolds held a press conference Tuesday on the spreading coronavirus and sickness and death engulfing the state.
“After ignoring the pandemic and public health guidelines for a month while campaigning, Governor Reynolds has put the State of Iowa in a crisis today, “Rep. Prichard continued. “COVID-19 is overwhelming our health care system and the community spread is the worst it’s ever been. Iowa’s positivity rates have exploded to 3rd highest in the county, hospitals are at full capacity, our healthcare workers are maxed out, and the death toll keeps climbing to new record highs. It’s past time for the Governor to follow the recommendations of scientists and public health experts. The Governor should immediately enact the recommendations of the White House Coronavirus Task Force.”
4,441 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Iowa today, as well as 27 deaths. 1,872 Iowans have died from Coronavirus since the pandemic began.
