DAVENPORT – Three people are dead in two-vehicle vehicle crash in Davenport, Iowa’s third-largest city.
On Thursday, August 20, 2020, at approximately 12:05 AM Davenport Police, Fire and EMS responded to the intersection of Kimberly Rd. and Wisconsin Ave. in reference to a serious vehicle crash.
After an investigation at the scene, it was determined a passenger car driving northbound on Wisconsin Ave. failed to stop at the stop sign. This car struck an SUV driving east on Kimberly Rd. broadside. After impact, both vehicles slid into the ditch and became engulfed in fire. One occupant was ejected from the SUV during the crash.
Both occupants of the SUV, as well as the driver of the passenger car were pronounced dead by Fire and EMS upon arrival, leaving no survivors in this crash. The names of the occupants of the vehicles are not being released at this time pending notification to next of kin. This incident is under investigation by the Davenport Police Traffic Safety Unit.
