CEDAR RAPIDS – A violent, armed Iowa man has been charged with first-degree murder for beating his mother to death.

George Alan Deason, age 49, was charged with Murder in the First Degree, Assault on a Police Officer with a Dangerous Weapon, and Interference with Official Acts with a Dangerous Weapon.

An investigation by the Cedar Rapids Police Department determined that George Deason assaulted his mother on June 30, 2020.
