MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s basketball team is ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.
NIACC (10-3 overall, 1-0 ICCAC) was No. 10 in the preseason poll and held down the No. 3 spot in the three December polls.
Since the last poll, the Lady Trojans topped Bryant & Stratton (77-70) and Parkland (88-76) and dropped a 84-77 decision to No. 2 Illinois Central at the Illinois Central Cougar Holiday Tournament in late December.
Johnson County CC is ranked No. 1 in the first poll of 2019. Kirkwood is ranked No. 10 and Iowa Lakes is receiving votes.
NIACC owns a victory over Illinois Central (95-89 in overtime) at the Konigsmark Klassic in the season opener for both teams. The Lady Trojans have lost to No. 1 Johnson County (82-74).
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Central in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
