Garage burns in Clear Lake, with $25,000 loss to owner

CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake garage burned this weekend, with an estimated loss of $25,000 to the owner.

The Clear Lake Fire Department said in a statement that they were dispatched to 204 10th Ave South for a reported structure fire, on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at approximately 9:54 AM. The Clear Lake Fire Department responded with 1 Ladder Company, 1 Engine Company, 1 Command Vehicle, an Ambulance and 21 Firefighters and 2 Medics.
Ventura Fire Department was dispatched via automatic mutual aide and they responded with 1 Engine Company. Clear Lake Police were the first on scene and confirmed it was a working structure fire with a garage showing smoke and flames.

Once on scene, the CLFD made entry thru the garage door and were able to make initial knock down of the fire. They spent the next few hours performing overhaul and making sure all of the hot spots were out.

No one was injured.

The garage contents were a total loss. Estimated damage is $25000 for contents and structure. The property is owned by Brian and Joan Hendrickson.

The fire remains under investigation by the Clear Lake Fire Department.

Clear Lake Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Clear Lake Police Department, Ventura Fire Department, and Alliant Energy.
