I want you to consider the brighter future that lays ahead with your YES vote. Our downtown will be vibrant with the addition of a modern hotel. Our downtown businesses will be busier. Our restaurants will be fuller. Your property values will go up. We will thrive; jobs will be created. They will attend events in a state-of-the-art arena. They will watch the town band perform on a new pavilion. The new convention center will lead many to town to spend money. It’s the facelift we have been waiting for. And there is so much more waiting in the wings if this project can go ahead.
Only you can decide which path to take. Your vote is crucial. Please consider the future of our town and give this project a chance. You will be glad you did.

Just like the South Bridge Mall was a for sure endeavor, these people live in cupcake land, vote no for “sanity”, anyone who willfully feeds the Roman Empire is a fool, people need all of the $ they earn, who do these cupcakes think are paying for this hotel/scheme the “serfs” through forced taxation, let the Rich build their own Roman Empire false Kingdom with their own $ they steal from the poor, I’m standing with Christ and the meek, vote NO, and No More lies, vote No for the small businesses that are going extinct because of the Rich and their New World Order plans.

Hello from the Southland. Moved away 5 years ago because I was sick of living in loser land. I see the big shots are at it again. Now they want a whopping 26 million from the people living in Mason City. I am soooooo glad I don’t have to listen to this crap anymore. My brother and his wife have voted no and they are voting for some lady for Mayor. Only in Mason City do they keep selling the people wolf tickets. When will they ever learn?

Usually when you mortgage your home you get money in return. Not with this con job. You will end up paying additional taxes for years. Listen up! There simply not enough people living here to cash flow this borddelo. When the city officials in Marshall Minnesota pulled the plug on Gatehouse Richy, one of the reasons were drastically inflated estimates on every phrase. VOTE NO!!

Buy Here =PAY HERE = only ones that will make a profit – construction companies and elected officials who get kickbacks raising property values because of a recreational area = city just wants more property tax revenue to hire more public servants and wages. This is an old con game the liberal public servants have been using forever – stop drinking the kool aid and making large corporation filth rich with your hard earned money.
My wife and I have voted. No! We are not foolish enough to think a project of this magnitude has the slightest chance of success. The last thing we need is another blighted eyesore in 10 years.

Finally, someone on NIT ‘gets it’. Just what we were thinking. My wife and I voted yes. We will take this chance – our town needs it.
That would be neat if the downtown became a beehive of activities. And like any beehive they tend to grow. That’s industry 101.
Vote yes if you want a higher taxes and an eyesore downtown when the Multi-Purpose Center goes bankrupt. 10 to 15 years from now the hotel will be in trouble and the ice arena limping along funded by the taxpayers of Mason City.
Mason City always puts the cart a head of the horse. You need to bring some industry and decent paying jobs to town FIRST. You need a population base that will support this endeavor. The anti job crowd have managed to keep competition for labor low so now they want to push this RISKASCENCE PROJECT.
This vote is going to lose and this project is going up in flames.
I know of 7 family’s with yes signs in their yard that are voting NO. They just didn’t want to tell the yes crowd they were not supportive.

Can’t help but notice the areas largest employer recently endorsed this project and cited it as critical to continue to retain and recruit talent to this area.
I’ve said all along, this project isn’t about a hotel or a hockey rink, it’s about providing quality of life enhancing amenities that appeal to the workforce that growth industries require. There is a opportunity here to finally show employers we want to grow, rather than continuing to turn opportunity away at the door.
Imagine a couple nice local restaurants going in downtown. Maybe a couple new carpeted joints serving drinks. Perhaps even a honestly run small gambling parlor. Might as well throw in parking meters as the downtown would be over the top as a go to entertainment mecca. The downtown would roll in cash and spaces to rent in the mall would be highly coveted retail spaces. Kinda like a gentrified version of the all American hometown that serves ALL it’s citizens with a smile.
That will take a awful big imagination. Restaurants? Ain’t gonna happen! This whole thing is nothing more than a pipe dream. Nightmare is more like it..
The average Chucky Cheese franchise gross is $2million. That’s new business in the district. $80,000 per year that would count towards paying of the $7 to 10 million bond debt. Add another couple restaurants and bars and there is another $80,000 to $100,000. Bring in an internet or Catalog seller that can collect sales tax on $10 million in sales, $400,000 towards bond debt. YES, success. YES, happiness. Yes, Growth. Yes, good times. Yes, prosperity.
