Convicted robber accused of domestic assault

MASON CITY – A local convicted robber who spent time in an Iowa prison has been arrested after an alleged domestic assault incident involving strangulation.

Mason City police were dispatched to a house at the 600 block of South Carolina Avenue to deal with a physical domestic incident. After an investigation, they encountered 33-year-old Troy Allen Burtis who lives nearby. He was arrested on a charge of aggravated domestic assault involving strangulation, and remains in the county jail at this time awaiting a court hearing on July 28.

Burtis was accused of committing an armed robbery back in 2005 in Mason City, but pled guilty to willful injury for injuring his victim. He was sent to an Iowa prison. He’s also been accused of disorderly conduct, littering, theft, burglary, possession of meth, driving while revoked, drunk driving, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and more.

I dont know about other readers/writers on these post but man I get sick and tired of all the repeat offenders. What the hell is wrong with out judicial system? Tag em,hang em and bag em!! “Enough said”
