Courthouse rampage costs Mason City woman 5 days in jail and fine

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman who attacked another woman at the county courthouse will serve a jail sentence.

Misti Lynn Thoe, age 50 of Mason City, allegedly attacked another woman outside the Cerro Gordo county courthouse on January 19, 2017. A judge issued a warrant for her arrest the next day on a charge of felony willful injury. She was finally arrested on the afternoon of January 22.

Thoe entered a not-guilty plea in the case at first, but later entered a guilty plea to assault causing bodily injury. At sentencing last week, Thoe was given a 5-day jail sentence. She was also ordered to pay $720.25 in fines and court fees, but may perform community service to cover the fine.
