CLEAR LAKE – A woman reported missing to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office on March 14 has been located in Clear Lake, deceased, police say.
Janet Dorenkamp, missing since Monday, March 13, was found deceased in her vehicle on Saturday, March 18 at around 10 AM.
Clear Lake Police Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of 7th Avenue North to check on a vehicle, a 2014 Toyota Rav4, registered to Dorenkamp. When officers arrived, they found a female, later identified as Dorenkamp, deceased in the vehicle.
There appears to be no “foul play” and residents of the area should not be concerned for their safety regarding this incident.
An autopsy will be performed by the medical examiner’s office to determine the manner and cause of death. The investigation will be jointly handled by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office and the Clear Lake Police Department.
There will be no further comment until the investigation is completed.
Dorenkamp’s family has been notified.

Holy cow ! We noticed the Halfmoon was closed Friday night around 830ish, so I drove up to the HM front doors to read the sign on the door without getting out of my car , but when we pulled up there was a silver Toyota suv parked there , also it was the only vehicle on whole block . We did not know about her missing until later when I read it here first , and now that they at least found her .
