Hahaha are you people having fun spreading your hypocritical idiotic stances on underage drinking? You’re telling me that having your government sending you to die before you’re ever allowed to consume alcohol is a straw man argument? It’s not if you think about. It doesn’t have “scientific backing” like the underdeveloped brain argument, but it definitely has a moral backing. Being 18 means we’re able to smoke cigarettes and die of lung cancer as well as go to war and be die for our country, but god forbid we have some beers on the weekend with friends. You ever hear of natural selection? The idiots that kill themselves with alcohol poisoning or destroy their brain cells before their brains are fully developed are obviously too stupid to care about their own safety. You ever think that maybe, just maybe, not all “underage drinkers” are irresponsible jackasses? Because it’s true. There are those of us that know the effects of alcohol and the dangers it poses and we treat it with the respect it deserves. So don’t demonize and call all the people that drink alcohol illegally stupid, because that’s not true. If we can handle the responsibility, I’d say we should be able to have some damn beers on the weekends with friends, especially if at any moment, our government decides to draft us and send us half way around the world to be killed by Islamic radicalists. Maybe we don’t lower the drinking age, but maybe we should make it so we can’t be drafted until we’re 21. That way, fresh young adult men aren’t killed before they get experience any ounce of life.

Oh, and on another note, half of you need to shut up because I’m 110% sure that every single one of you drank before you were of age. So stop blabbering on about how “the kids these days are so dumb and think they can just do what they want”. I’m sorry, who the fuck are you to talk? Ever hear of learning from mistakes? Ever hear of having fun? Ever heard of living a little? Because again, you all did it too. You’re not as perfect as you think you are and I can guarantee you’re not as innocent as you believe either.

Get off your high horse, sit the fuck down, and stop talking like you never had a phase of rebellion and trying new things. It’s called life. And believe it or not, there are those of us out there that aren’t irresponsible morons, we just have bad luck and get stuck in shitty situations. Just because you got lucky and didn’t get caught doesn’t excuse the fact that you were just as bad.

So, one final time, please shut the hell up. You’re making fools of yourselves

People 18-21 do not have fully developed brains and are unable to handle alcohol in the way a more mature person does.

The “old enough to die for your country” argument is a straw man.

Exactly. There are a lot of people over 21 that still don’t have fully developed brains, we read about them almost daily on this site.

Most mid twenties kids don’t seem to have fully developed brains, either. Imo, we should raise the drinking age to 30. Not a level.

The 18 age debate will for ever be tied to dying for your country and being able to drink. Personally, I was part of the group that was able to drink at 18 and found it to be troubling at times. 18 and in high school is the kid in the candy store period. The ease and exposure for alcohol was so great that it changed my outlook on what I wanted to accomplish in high school. Simply stated, 18 and being able to legally drink in high school is just plain dumb. There is always going to be a debate on the drinking age and where adulthood should start, but they don’t have to be tied together as they are separate by nature.

The entitled kids today are not ready to be adults. They have no sense of responsibility and should not be allowed to drink alcohol.

Allen! Walk in your sleep or pizz your pants ? MY goodness you have stumbled upon the demorat party – a party for themselves and screw the private sector.

Sorry, I didn’t realize there was a connection.

Well, that was interesting. Just what I need is a subscription to the Charles City Press.

We all loved them “Keggers” in the country!!! Cars parked every which way on the house lawn, and as far as you could see up and down on the gravel road. AC/DC blaring from the house. Kids standing at the door selling cups for a couple bucks. You got your cup and headed to the keg to fill your cup up. A group of kids playing quarters and chandeliers at the family dinner table, yelling “go, go, go”, laughing and having a good time. A line at the only bathroom in the house. Guys and girls in all the bedrooms, and ALWAYS that one guy and one girl that were super drunk. Then all of a sudden someone yells “cops!” And the first thing someone does is grabs the tapper off the top of the keg and sprints for the cornfield with everybody else until the coast is clear to come out. You all remember!! Back then we didn’t have cell phones for somebody to come pick us up. We all did pretty damn good job at getting ourselves and our drunk friends home without incident. Now a days the kids that didn’t get invited or are pissed at their boyfriend or girlfriend for going to the party without them, use their phone to call the cops to ruin the fun. It’s a bunch of BS, now 17 kids get a charge on their record for something their parents did, their grandparents did, and their great grandparents did on private property. Even though they all got phones to contact somebody to come get them so they wouldn’t be drinking and driving. It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and preach on how this could happen and that could happen. I know, I know the law is the law, SO LET’S GET THESE KIDS BUSTED RIGHT!! It’s a damn shame that ‘times have changed” to turn kids in for growing up like we all did…go ahead perfect people behind the computer, slam me on this one.

No slam from me on that, I know exactly of what you say. I grew up in the 60’s, best years of my life. Everything seemed laid back, easy going. We used to rent a small house in the country where we’d party every weekend. Never bothered anybody, except the people on the corner. They called the sheriff, I just happened to meet him at the driveway and he told me to tell the others to stop driving by their house and to come in from another direction. That being said, all was well. In my opinion, it wasn’t until the MADD movement started that law enforcement had to buckle down on youthful offenders. I’m not saying that MADD is a bad idea, but neither is the DARE program. Has either one really accomplished anything. Alcohol in excess, is never good.

Lets see, 1.) At the age 18 or younger you can decide if you want to murder your own baby i.e. abortion, 2.) At age 18 you can voluntarily enlist and or be drafted in the military and be told to kill people, “YET” 3.) You are at age 18 under arrest if you drink, do people realize the sorcerers are in their yachts laughing at the pre programmed zombies i.e. zero critical thinking/conscience in America, the word “America” means “Plumed Serpents”, at some point ignorance is a choice, my recommendation “research” outside of the pre programmed Matrix the Elite has designed/socially engineered.

18 years old is old enough to make a decision to drink, more order followers just like Hitlers crew.

Not sure of your age Mint, but you talk like your generation is the first to think of an 18 year old age of majority for drinking. Well you’re not. In the late 60’s teens of the Viet Nam draft era lobbied hard to achieve an eighteen year old drinking age and by the early 70’s accomplished just that. Started out pretty good until educators got tired of the senior class being hungover. So then the age was raised to nineteen and that was better, for a while. Then the responcsblity of these teens went bad and people pushed to raise the age back to 21. With that accomplished, the house party became the venue of choice. Point is, the eighteen year old drinking age has been tried and really didn’t work. (Even the bar owners were glad to be rid of the youngsters.) Todays millenial/entitled youth haven’t shown the maturity to get much support for a change.

Little to late Vietnam drafted vets were used as “human ritual sacrifices” for the sorcerers false god, alcohol for dinner and celebrations is allowed by normal parents, not into the Roman Empire running civilization, many are.

I see the ADULTS were 18 and 19 years old. How old were the juveniles?

It.s probably a rental, most likely Niacc students and by the way you can go into the service at 18 and with a high school diploma. sign the fricken papers.

Damn teenagers!

Some people think that under aged drinking isn’t a crime. I wonder what the thought would be if one of the under aged drinkers killed someone in their family while OWI under age. It seems that none of the adults that were charged were named Paulsen, so who at the party was.

What’s the difference between a 18yo and a 21yo if they get drunk and kill your family member? Do you say, well, at least he was legally abe to drink?

There is no difference, you missed the point. In my opinion, anyone who gets drunk and drives, is a total loser, and always will be. When people stick up for drunk drivers, it makes me think that they are one. A drunk driver will always get his/her day, sooner or later. Hopefully not at the expense of another’s life.

no one said anything about drinkning and driving did they :))

Logann, a smart young lady like you could surely figure out the the 9 juveniles didn’t walk to the party, especially in the winter. Hopefully their parents didn’t take them there :((

in 1976 this was considered an after x
school study time hahaha times– they do change

Oh my, what a crime, people old enough to go to war and die for our country, drinking a beer. What a crime,

Yet haven’t enlisted in any armed services…..

If you walk in your sleep, or piss the bed, et al. you can’t get into the military.

What about jacking off in your car while parked in front of your mothers house?
