FORT DODGE – Numerous criminal mischiefs around Fort Dodge were committed this week and police are asking citizens to come forward and help solve the crimes.

On Monday, October 30th, 2023, at approximately 5:46 AM, citizens around the community began calling into the Webster County Telecommunications Center reporting that their windows had been damaged. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department began investigating the incidents as information continued to come in regarding additional locations.

Through the investigation it was reported that windows in vehicles, residences, and a business were damaged. The locations of the criminal mischiefs were represented in a map police distributed.

“At this time, we have taken 39 incident reports but have received more calls from citizens that elected not to file a report,” police said. “It is believed that these incidents took place between the hours of 2:00 to 6:00 A.M.”

The Fort Dodge Police Department is continuing to investigate these incidents. Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the areas identified on this map are strongly encouraged to contact the police.

“Video evidence is extremely valuable in these cases, and we encourage those that have surveillance systems in the identified areas to please review your footage around this timeframe and contact police if you see anything suspicious,” police mentioned.
