MASON CITY – Mason City council candidate Paul Adams announced this week he intends to use the Orton Family Foundation’s Community Heart and Soul program in order to help citizens shape the future of Mason City.

The Heart and Soul program engages citizens from all sectors to move cities forward and helps them identify the type of community that Mason City residents want it to be.

“Mason City has recently gone through a period of turmoil and this program is designed to help residents move forward and shape the future of Mason City. Others are talking about how we move forward but no one has really said how they intend to do it, this program is a perfect fit for Mason City. As your council member I will work to implement this program in the city of Mason City,” said Paul.

Paul Adams is running for the At Large Mason City council position in a special election on September 20th.

Copy cat. Weaver organized a great turn out for citizens 3 months ago about the same topic. Find your own ideas.

The Heart and Soul program is what Mason City needs. After three months no positive results from Weaver. But then, look at his record.

Ok so is this going to cost money like Blue Zone? I checked the site and it has a link for jobs with them, so those employees need to be paid.

http://www.orton.org/who-we-are says that “The Orton Family Foundation’s mission is to empower people to shape the future of their communities by improving local decision-making, creating a shared sense of belonging, and ultimately strengthening the social, cultural, and economic vibrancy of each place”. It’s a great program, but you got to get it passed the Chamber, the Corridor, and Bookmeyer’s special interest gang!! Good luck with that.

In other words, the special interest will kill it.
