Mason City man sent to jail for drunk driving

MASON CITY – A judge sent a Mason City man to jail for drunk driving and other crimes.

Alec Robert Krueger, age 20, was caught drunk driving back in November of 2015 by Mason City police. After a guilty plea, he was sentenced to 2 days in jail and ordered to pay $1,887.50 in fines and court fees. He will also be losing his driver’s license for 6 months.

In addition, Krueger had been on probation after a guilty plea in February to marijuana possession. He was recently sentenced to a 60 day jail term with 39 days suspended and another year of probation. Also in February, Krueger was charged with public intoxication by Mason City police, to which he immediately pleaded guilty. He was fined $243.75.

Got off pretty easy. Our court system stinks.
