MEDFORD, MINNESOTA – A trucker headed toward Iowa on Interstate 35 was arrested with 19 opened cans of beer in the cab.
In a case of showing more evidence for defensive driving, the Minnesota State Patrol reported today that a trooper with that law enforcement agency was dispatched on January 20 just after 2 PM to Interstate 35 south of Medford. They had received reports of a semitrailer swerving all over the road. The trooper located the truck and observed it crossing the foglines.
During the ensuing traffic stop, the trooper found nineteen opened and four unopened cans of beer in the truck’s cab. One of the open cans was beneath the driver’s seat.
The trooper detected alcohol impairment of the truck driver, who was arrested for DWI (driving while intoxicated). The truck driver provided a breath test, which was 0.21 percent blood alcohol content. A name of the arrested party was not released.
