niacc-snowMASON CITY – A North Iowa man was busted in a sting Wednesday night, allegedly selling illicit pills at the NIACC campus.

The incident took place Wednesday around 7:00 PM at 1001 College Drive, at or near the NIACC dormitories. NIT is told by Sheriff Kevin Pals that an undercover drug buy was conducted by the sheriff’s office at that location.

Allegedly, 21-year-old Lucas Laverne Farris of Ventura did sell 5 pills of alma 36, sometimes identified as Methylphenidate, to an undercover deputy sheriff. Alma 36 is a scheduled 2 controlled substance.

Farris – who has three prior theft convictions – was booked into the Cerro Gordo jail about an hour later in violation of Iowa code 124.401-1-C, a felony. He is being held on $10,000 cash or surety bond.
