NASHUA, IOWA – A man lost his life due to a shooting in Nashua this weekend, and an investigation is underway.
On January 2, 2016, at approximately 4:30 PM, the Nashua Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol responded to a 911 call at 110 St. Lawrence Street in Nashua, Iowa on the report of a shooting. Officers located a deceased victim, a 56 year old male, with a gunshot wound.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) was asked to assist in this death investigation. The subject who fired the weapon has been identified and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time and it is not believed that the general public is in any danger. An autopsy is scheduled at the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny, Iowa.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of relatives.
