NIACC’s Glendinning commits to University of Missouri

MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore shortstop Robbie Glendinning has verbally committed to play baseball at the University of Missouri.

Glendinning, who was an NJCAA Division II second-team all-American as a freshman, had other scholarship offers from teams in the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and Missouri Valley Conference.

Glendinning is the first NIACC baseball player to earn all-American honors since Erik Smith was a second-team infielder in 2008.

Glendinning helped lead the Trojans to the NJCAA Region XI title, the North Plains district title and a berth in the NJCAA Division II World Series.

Glendinning hit .412 with 107 hits (single-season school record), scored 75 runs (single-season school-record) and had 27 doubles (single-season school record), 8 home runs and 54 RBIs in his freshman season.

Glendinning was second in NJCAA Division II with his 107 hits and 27 doubles. The 107 hits rank 13th on NIACC’s career list and the 27 doubles are tied for eighth on the school’s career list.
