MASON CITY – Thousands of North Iowans lost power Wednesday evening due to difficulties with a transmission line.
Alliant Energy told NIT that a transmission line bringing power to Mason City, and area, had an issue and it caused an outage for about 11,000 customers.
Rock Falls, Nora Springs, the NIACC campus, and much of eastern, central and southern Mason City lost power.
Alliant said crews were able to reroute the power about 15 minutes later and solve the problem.
