MASON CITY – An astronomy program for the whole family will be presented this month at the Mason City library.

The Star Tour 2015 is coming to the Mason City Public Library.  The program “Look up to the Stars” will be held in the Mason City Room of the library on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm. The aim of Star Tour 2015 is to open new galaxies of inquiry for children, teens and adults. This is a program designed for the entire family.

International award-winning astronomer and former consultant to NASA, Kevin Manning, will present an educational and entertaining exploration of the universe, the stars and other celestial wonders, as well as a refreshingly large perspective gained by looking up to the stars. Weather permitting, audience members will go outside to view the amazing rings of Saturn, craters of the moon and other jewels of the night sky through a powerful custom-designed telescope. The program will include awesome visuals of the night sky as well as a question and answer session with presenter, Kevin Manning.
Kevin founded “Look Up to the Stars” with a mission to generate interest and foster scientific literacy nationwide through the delivery of awe-inspiring, educational and entertaining programs.  Join us for an unforgettable cosmic journey through the universe with Kevin Manning as the captain, who will expertly field a meteor shower of diverse questions and push back the “dark side” with the latest scientific knowledge.
