FORT DODGE – Police in Fort Dodge are investigating two separate, violent incidents that left two males injured.
According to Fort Dodge police, a willful injury crime took place on the afternoon of July 4 in a trailer park. Officers were called to 3102 North 15th Street Lot 65 at approximately 1:23 PM that day to investigate an incident in which a person had just been stabbed. When officers arrived, they found the victim, Andy Trusty, age 34 of Fort Dodge, inside his trailer home with a stab would to his torso. Trusty was transported to the Emergency Room at Unity Point by ambulance where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The investigating officers have identified a suspect in this case and are continuing to follow up leads and speaking with potential witnesses.
The previous evening, on July 3 at 11:14 PM, officers from the Fort Dodge Police Department were dispatched to a shooting that happened in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue SW. Officers were advised that a juvenile had been shot in the leg. As officers arrived in the area of the shooting, they were advised that the victim had been taken to the Emergency Room at Unity Point with non life threating injuries. When officers arrived at Unity Point they found a juvenile male who had been shot. The investigation in this case is on going, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
