CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman is in trouble for the second time this year after her “pit-bull type” dogs attacked and killed a cat.
Charles City police told NorthIowaToday.com today that 36-year-old Clorista Baker was cited with 6 citations after an April 8 incident. On the morning of that day, police were called to the 200 block of Clark Street after a caller reported a cat being attacked by dogs. Officers arrived and determined that Baker’s two “pitbull-type dogs” had killed the cat. The dogs were picked up and taken to a local shelter.
Baker was given time to provide proper documentation for the two dogs, but apparently failed to do so. Chief Hugh Anderson said today that Baker will be charged with two citations for dog at large, two citations for vicious dog, and two citations for failure to prove rabies vaccination. She must appear in court on April 29.
Baker was charged in January with vicious dog and no rabies vaccination. Both charges were later dismissed.
