Man who fired gun inside Wal-Mart store in Cedar Rapids is caught

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Law enforcement has arrested the suspected shooter in an incident that occurred earlier this month at a Cedar Rapids Wal-Mart.

At 4:41 PM yesterday afternoon, Cedar Rapids Police Officers engaged in a foot pursuit of the suspect in the 1000 block of 10th Street SE. A perimeter was established and a K-9 unit attempted a track of the suspect in the area.

The suspect, identified as 20 year-old Brandon Fitzgerald Johnson of Cedar Rapids, was taken into custody at 5:12 p.m. behind a home in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue SE.
