MASON CITY – Police responded to a harassment call and took a man to jail.
On January 12, at about 4:30 AM, police were called to 425 1st Street NE to investigate a harassment complaint. After an investigation, a Mason City man, 40-year-old Thomas Wayne Vanfossen, was arrested on charges of harassment in the third degree and driving while barred.
Vanfossen was released soon thereafter on his own recognizance. He awaits a July 10 non-jury trial on the harassment charge and a preliminary hearing on January 30 on the driving while barred charge.
