MASON CITY – A Charles City woman who recently plead guilty to theft charges was caught Mason City by police and now faces a drug charge.
Amy Sue Dunning, age 29, was arrested by Mason City police on the evening of Friday, December 19 near the NIACC campus. Police conducted a traffic stop at 12th Street NE and California Avenue when a car Dunning was a passenger in had a brake light out. After an investigation, the driver was given a warning and Dunning was arrested on a drug charge that was not immediately disclosed. She was soon released as she awaits a court date.
Previously, Charles City police investigated the theft of a debit card from another resident. Once the investigation was complete, Dunning was arrested and charged with theft in the fifth degree. She later pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay $282.75 in fines, fees and restitution.
