Iowa took care of business Saturday in a home contest, downing Maryland-Baltimore County, 77-47. Four Hawkeyes scored in double figures. They include: Peter Jok (15), Gabriel Olaseni (15), Aaron White (14), and Jarrod Uthoff (11).
Gabriel Olaseni tied a career with 15 points while Peter Jok netted a career high 4 three pointers. He also tied his career high with 15 points.
“I’m a little disappointed that we were seemingly content to trade baskets in the second half, and that happens sometimes,” said coach Fran McCaffrey. “You’re up 30, and you don’t play with that same sense of urgency that you need to. But that’s what those guys need to play with, especially the young guys, because, you know, what that means is am I going to put them in in the big games that are coming up. That’s how you earn playing time.”
Iowa returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 9, when it hosts Alcocrn State. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNEWS.
