
MASON CITY – The NIACC wrestling team is ranked sixth in the NJCAA poll.
The Trojans were also sixth in the preseason poll.
Clackamas Community College, which was second in the preseason poll, is ranked No. 1. North Idaho, which was the preseason No. 1 team, fell to No. 2.
Iowa Central is ranked fourth, Ellsworth is eighth and Iowa Lakes is 13th.

NIACC’s Nosomy Pozo is ranked No. 1 at 149 pounds and Yoanse Mejias is top-ranked at 157 pounds. The pair of defending national champions were also ranked first at their respective weights in the preseason poll.
Pozo is 14-4 with three pins, two technical falls and four major decisions.
Mejias is 14-2 with four pins, two technical falls and five major decisions.
Also for NIACC, freshman Paul Mascarenas is ranked third at 125 pounds. Mascarenas, who was 11th in the preseason rankings, is 11-4 with two pins and four major decisions.

Freshman Shiquan Hall is ranked 12th at 133 pounds after being 12th in the preseason rankings. Hall is 11-5 with three pins, one technical fall and three major decisions.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at the Simpson College Invitational in Indianola.
