MASON CITY – The 10th annual ethnic Lunch by Central Park event was held Friday in Mason City’s Central Park. This event is intended to highlight the diverse ethnicity in the area to promote understanding of different cultures.
The event took place on the streetscape on Federal Avenue between State Street and First Street North. A good crowd was treated to live music, food, cultural exhibits and informational tables and Diversity Awards.
Ethnic food vendors were set up along Federal Ave, including Mexican, Greek, Cuban, German, Filipino, Japanese and Italian. Cultural exhibits included Native American, Mexican, Sri Lanka, South Korea, India, Iran, Hungary, Ghana and Vietnamese. Information regarding the Blue Zone initiative, Iowa Legal Aid, and the new Speakers’ Bureau was available.
