Northeast Iowa cops search for hit and run suspect

logo-iowa-state-patrolDYERSVILLE – The Iowa State Patrol and other authorities are searching for a suspect who rammed a local police officer’s squad car Thanksgiving morning and fled the scene.

According to a report, police believe a black, mid-2000’s Dodge pick-up with chrome nerf bars now has heavy rear-end damage and some front-end damage after striking two vehicles – one of them a Dyersville police car – Thursday morning.

The black Dodge pick-up was first spotted by a Dyersville police officer at about 10:00 AM Thursday morning and an attempt to stop the vehicle was undertaken, but the driver refused to stop and proceeded though an intersection where it struck a 2009 Chevy Malibu driven by Kathryn Glanz, age 27, of Dyersville.

The pick-up truck then backed into the 2009 Dodge Charger squad car driven by the Dyersville police officer, rendering it disabled, and fled the scene.
