CLEAR LAKE – On Friday, June 22nd, 36-year-old Brenda Kay Reyerson entered a negotiated voluntary plea of guilty to a lesser aggravated misdemeanor offense of interference with official acts causing bodily injury.
Reyerson had originally been charged with a Class D felony count of assault with intent to injure a peace officer following an early morning incident in Clear Lake on January 11th. She had pleaded not guilty but at a pre-trial conference agreed to a plea change to the lesser misdemeanor offence.
At the scheduled plea change hearing presiding District Associate Judge Gregg Rosenblatt suspended a $625 dollar fine on the condition of no new criminal convictions for a year. Judge Rosenblatt also sentenced Reyerson to serve 4 days in jail and pay $379 in court costs and lawyer fees.
