DAVENPORT, IOWA – Two men engaged in an argument at an Iowa Walmart became entangled in a life-altering attack in which one was brutally stabbed and the other is behind bars facing numerous serious charges.
On Saturday, January 4, 2025, at approximately 3:45 PM, Davenport, Iowa police, fire and medic EMS responded to the Walmart store at 5811 Elmore Avenue in reference to the report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Initial investigation indicated to police that a verbal disagreement escalated to one individual assaulting another with a knife. The victim, a 24-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
As a result of investigation, 58-year-old Wesley Spotts (pictured at top) of Bettendorf, Iowa, was arrested on-scene and charged with the following crimes:
– Attempt to Commit Murder
– Willful Injury
– Going Armed with Intent
– Assault with Intent to Commit Serious Injury.
The investigation remains ongoing, police say.
