CHARLES CITY – An Osage man may face charges after police say he struck a Floyd teen’s vehicle and left the scene of the accident.
Charles City police responded to a hit and run accident on September 11 at about 9:49 PM in the 600 block of Gilbert Street. Police said that Brittany Gifford-Refshauge, age 17 of Floyd, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix when she was struck by Bret Jeffries, age 19 of Osage, who was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.
Police say Jeffries drove away before police arrived and did not exchange information with Gifford-Refshauge. They say charges are pending in the case, but did not disclose the amount of damage.
