More trouble with booze lands Clear Lake man back in jail

CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man who has been found guilty of numerous alcohol-related offenses was arrested again this week for public intoxication.

Alex David Meyer, age 25, was arrested by Clear Lake police on the evening of September 1 on a charge of aggravated public intoxication. He was taken to jail, booked, and held on $3,000 cash or surety bond. He awaits a hearing on September 11.

Meyer pled guilty to third or subsequent offense public intoxication in 2013 after an earlier arrest again by Clear Lake police.

On August 25, 2014, Meyer plead guilty to disorderly conduct – loud noise – after Clear Lake police cited him that day. He was ordered to pay $195 in fines and fees.

In June, Meyer pled guilty to domestic abuse assault and false imprisonment after he injured his girlfriend, smashed her phone and cracked her car’s windshield at a Clear Lake convenience store on New Year’s Eve 2013. He was sentenced to two days in jail and ordered to pay $1,155.00 in fines and fees.
