SAINT PAUL – Minnesota law enforcement announced Wednesday morning a focused search for a man suspected of murdering a former Mason City resident is now underway.
On Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at approximately 9:30 am, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office reports that a search is currently underway for Lyle Marvin “Ty” Hoffman in Prior Lake, Minnesota. A possible sighting of Ty Hoffman was reported and various law enforcement agencies have responded to search the area. Hoffman is the homicide suspect from the August 11, 2014 Arden Hills Holiday Gas Station murder of Kelly Phillips, formerly of Mason City.
Law enforcement pleaded with media organization to stay out of the search area “due to the volatile nature of this situation.”
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and Prior Lake Police Department will be providing media briefings when additional information is available.
