MASON CITY – A man accused of second offense operating while intoxicated and serious assault is now in jail after failing to appear in court.
Fred Huff, age 53 of Mason City, was arrested by Mason City police on July 25th after he skipped a required court appearance and failed to complete a substance abuse evaluation at Prairie Ridge. He is being held on $3,000 cash bond in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
Huff was originally arrested on June 16th by Mason City police on the above charges as well as a charge of criminal mischief in the fifth degree. No trial date has been set on the assault and drunk driving charges, but he will face a trial on December 17th on the criminal mischief charge.
