MASON CITY – A North End house that is now in foreclosure was the site of what police called a “large fight” recently that spilled outside.
Mason City police were sent to 916 North Jackson Avenue on June 22 at about 3:36 AM to stop what they called a “large fight” that was occurring in the nearby intersection with 9th Street. Officers investigated the incident and it was determined the incident started at the residence. Police said no arrests were made.
Mason City police chief Mike Lashbrook said that the property owner – Laci Willsher of Mason City – was notified of the founded nuisance incident and it’s application to the Nuisance Property Ordinance. Captain Mike McKelvey tracks this information for referral to the City Administrator once a property qualifies as a nuisance property.
Records show that Bank of America began foreclosure proceeding in May on the property. The bank had been demanding payment on the mortgage attached to the property since July of 2013. Via social media, Willsher claims to work at WS Live in Mason City.
