Ames police said that Tong Shao (who goes by the first name Shao) is a 20 year old ISU student. The last verified contact with her was on September 8, when she advised she was in the Iowa City area and was going to be going to Minnesota to visit friends. Since then, neither her family nor friends have had any contact from her. The phone she had been using has been disconnected.
“At this point, we have done everything we can do to locate her,” Ames police said Sunday.
Monday morning, Ames police advised that “we are still looking for our missing ISU student, Tong Shao. She told friends she was in Iowa City and would be heading to Minnesota to visit friends. We have contacted everyone we can so far an no one has seen her. Obviously, we and her family are very concerned about her.”
