Another Iowa State basketball player arrested for drunk driving

AMES – Fred Hoiberg may have a problem on his hands after a second one of his players was stopped Saturday for drunk driving.

Freshman Matt Thomas, 19, was stopped for a bad brake light at around bar closing time by an Ames police officer.  He was arrested ad charged with first offense operating while intoxicated and improper brake light. It was reported that Thomas was immediately suspended indefinitely from the team and that Hoiberg was made aware of the situation.

On April 12, Abdel Nader, a new addition to the Cyclones who transferred from Northern Illinois University, was stopped by Iowa State University police for drunk driving. He was also suspended. Nader awaits a July 1, 2014 trial.

Well, there you have it….this just proves playing basketball causes you to drink and drive. I’d say it’s time to ban basketballs.

@Buzz-Good point.

Another one trapped in between SOCIETY’S MIXED SIGNALS. The alcohol industry keeps chugging away…

Anyone know the score between Iowa drunks vs IOWA STATE drunks? It would be interesting to see who wins this new sport!!!!
