Agile, nimble, quick miscreants outrun cops to escape capture Wednesday morning

MASON CITY – Police attempted to nab some potential lawbreakers this morning, but the cunning, speed and agility of the crooks proved to be too much, as they escaped.

Deputies from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office attempted to a traffic stop of a vehicle at 2:26 AM Wednesday morning at the 1200 block of North Federal Avenue.

However, before the vehicle stopped, a passenger in the car jumped out and fled on foot. A deputy pursued the subject in a foot chase as the car also fled the scene, but was soon also abandoned by those inside. Up to four deputies and five Mason city police officers joined in the search, but were unable to locate any of the miscreants

The vehicle was located and impounded.

What kind of auto was it? Maybe someone might know who was driving it!! Come on man!

Probably a stolen car, so the registered owner is probably safe from being a suspect. Got to love the north end entertainment. It will always keep ya guessing.

Those cops carry so much equipment on their belts I am surprised they can walk, much less chase anyone down.

better get out and hit the treadmill or just go jogging. have to be able to run at least a block or two
