MASON CITY – The Friends of the 457 will light up the Rotary Cannonball steam engine in East Park with its annual Christmas light display and music this Sunday, Dec 1st. This has been an annual event for the last five years except for last year due to the restoration. There will be “A Case or A Can” food collection for Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank from 3-6:pm. Cases of canned food are encouraged, however any amount will be accepted. Due to the great need for restocking the Hawkeye Food Bank this is a great opportunity to demonstrate to our children the art of giving more than the ordinary. Cases of canned foods may be purchased at any of our local grocery stores. Lights will go on at dusk somewhere between 5-5:30 pm.
