MASON CITY – Perhaps sometimes a man just can’t be rehabilitated.
In the case of one Mason City man who has found himself in trouble numerous times in recent months, probation just wasn’t enough, as a judge this week deemed the endeavor “unsuccessful.”
Bryon Michael Sletten, age 47, was placed on probation in 2012 after pleading guilty to operating while intoxicated. He was given a year of probation and assessed over $2,000 in fines and fees, most of which he still owes to the courts.
Sletten violated the terms of his probation when he was cited by Mason City police for using drugs in a downtown alley and later plead guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge Karen Salic found Sletten guilty of violating his probation on November 12th, and online records describe the ruling as “probation terminated as unsuccessful.”
Judge Salic sentenced Sletten to 7 days in jail. He is now in the Cerro Gordo County Jail serving his sentence. He’ll be released November 21st.
Sletten is awaiting a jury trial on December 10th on a charge of domestic abuse involving strangulation.
Sletton is a convicted felon who has served time in Iowa penitentiaries.

Mr. Sletten has had way more mug shots than school pictures. I guess that would be Pretty easy since he probably never made it past the eight grade.

I was on 2 years paper, and had a ex girlfriend get upset, and just said that I had been drinking….(which I did,but never caught) I got 7 months inb Beje Clark….1st offense. And let it be known I was at my house drinking, and bothering no one….
