MASON CITY – Long-time Mohawk Eddie Kline has been honored by the City of Mason City with a day of recognition.

Friday, September 6th, 2013 will be “EDDIE D. KLINE DAY” in Mason City, the Mayor and City Council proclaimed Tuesday evening.

Mr. Kline, 80, was a state champion wrestler for Mason City three times, in 1951, 1952 and 1953 – the year he graduated – and landed in the State Wrestling Hall of Fame.  He was also a custodian at Mason City High School from 1956 through 1994 and received the distinguished alumni award in 2000.

Mason City School District Superintendent Anita Micich said Thursday that “We are excited to recognize Eddie Kline for his achievements as a Mason City Mohawk and for his ever positive spirit that supports our schools and students in their efforts on the field, court and in their pursuits of their dreams! I am proud to know Eddie Kline.”
