GARNER – In order to promote visual façade improvements in commercial establishments, the City of Garner and Garner Chamber of Commerce have recently established a Visual Improvement Program Grant. These funds have been set aside from the City’s Local Option Sales Tax collections. Grants are not limited to downtown businesses.
Eligible activities include painting, signs & awnings, exterior façade repair, front entry updates and doors & windows.
The program has two elements: 1) Professional Design Assistance; and 2) Construction Grants. We have provided related documents. Funds are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Design Assistance Application The City has retained a professional architect to consult on building design improvements. Under the VIP Grant, the City will cover $250 of this cost.
Construction Grant Application Construction grants cover up to 25% or up to $2,500 of the cost of certain design improvements.
