MASON CITY – The Elmwood – St. Joseph Municipal Cemetery would like to remind families and friends to remove their winter decoration as soon as possible.
Meaningful winter decorations they want to keep should be picked up on or before Sunday, April 1, 2012.
The City Cemetery Staff will begin removing and disposing of all non-regulation decorations after this date. Regulations allow flowers and other items to remain on gravesites, but they must be in flower boxes, permanent vases or securely attached to monuments. Staff will be removing all glass and ceramic items, as they are a hazard when trimming around gravestones.
