Liberal Iowa political group launches website to assist voters

DES MOINES – A new resource for early voting was launched by Progress Iowa – a liberal Iowa political group – today, at IowaVotesEarly.com, providing Iowans who want to vote early an easy to use site where they can find the closest voting location. Iowans can vote in person at their county auditor’s office and at satellite voting locations, as well as by voting by mail with an absentee ballot. Information is provided in both English and Spanish, and the site will be updated as more early voting sites are confirmed.

“Iowans have a right to know where and when they can vote, and we want to make it easier for everyone to cast their ballot,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “Voting should be a simple process. Unfortunately there have been more barriers put up this year, including the reduction of early voting by eleven days. In these last weeks of the campaign, we hope Iowans will vote early, to make sure their vote is counted in case they can’t make it to the polls on election day. Voting early is easy to do, and our website aims to make it even easier.”

Voters are encouraged to visit www.IowaVotesEarly.com to look for their early vote locations, and other organizations and news outlets are encouraged to link to the website to help spread the information as well.

Progress Iowa is a multi-issue progressive advocacy organization with a network of more than 75,000 progressives. Year-round, Progress Iowa advocates for a stronger middle class, first-class public education, and fairness for all Iowans under the law.
