MASON CITY – Wednesday morning at about 4:00 a.m., the Mason City Police Department and Mason City Fire Department were dispatched to an accident that occurred on the 700 block of East State Street.
A car had hit a parked mini van and road sign.
It was reported that the driver, heavily bleeding, left his car and ran. Police officers followed the trail of blood and the driver was taken into custody.
Miller Towing was at the scene to pick-up the vehicles.
Mason City Police could not divulge any more information as of Wednesday afternoon.
