Big difference between Tea Party and Occupy Whatever!

(Op-ed by Otis Lewis)

It is time to draw the distinction between the Tea Party and Occupy Whatever protests.

The only commonality is they are both opposed to bailouts of Wall Street, that is it. The Tea Party does not believe that Government is the answer. They do not believe that government should tell you how to live your life or that the government can spend your money more wisely.

It is doubtful that the Occupy Whatever crowd realizes that we have a $15 trillion debt!

For the record this is what the Tea Party stands for:

• No more bailouts
• Reduce the size and intrusiveness of government
• Stop raising our taxes
• Repeal Obamacare
• Cease out-of-control spending
• Bring back American prosperity and jobs

The motivations, the behavior of Occupy Whatever, and their disrespect for the principles that made this country great could not stand in starker contrast to the Tea Party. The Tea Party stands for free market capitalism, individual responsibility, self-reliance, individual liberties, and a limited Federal Government.

It is important that the Tea Party stand up for these comparisons and stand up for our principles.
