DUBUQUE – Three Iowa teens are dead in a high-speed crash in a sports car.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Friday morning, July 1, 2022. At about 1:22 AM that morning, a 2014 Chevy Camaro driven by 19-year-old William L Wodrich IV of Dubuque was southbound on NW Arterial in Dubuque at a high rate of speed. Wodrich lost control of the Camaro, entered a ditch, vaulted and rolled.
As a result of the accident, Wodrich died, as did his two passengers, 17-year-old Kennedy Elizabeth Elskamp and 17-year-old Chloe Madison Lucas.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Dubuque police, Dubuque County Sheriff’s Dept., Dubuque Fire Dept., and Dubuque County Medical Examiner.
