What I write is what I believe (by Peter Children)

(Op-ed by Peter Children)

What I write is what I believe; if it was not I wouldn’t write it. Whether you believe it or agree with it is entirely up to you. It is called an “opinion” column. I try my best to be as factual as I can when referring to statistical information, I take whatever time it takes to research the material in question.

My purpose is to provoke a response, good or bad, any reaction will suffice; if you agree with me I automatically will think you are bright…smart, and if you don’t agree I will think you are not bright, not even close to being smart. I try to learn from your reactions, I don’t pay much attention if you disagree, most times I don’t even finish reading what you write, but if I see that it is complimentary, I might even read it twice.

If you chose not to hide behind fake names and were like me who signs his name, I would think you had fortitude and were filled with substance, that you were brave and strong and even good looking, I might even throw in tolerant…but that would be a stretch.

Many of you think I do not like Bookmeyer; you might be right, but you also might be wrong. There are things I do not like concerning him, probably several things, but I don’t have the time or inclination to list them all . But there could be things I might like about him, I haven’t a clue what they might be now, at this moment, but that is not to say it could not happen. You see it is natural for people to make assumptions, doesn’t mean they are right….or necessarily wrong.

There are things most of you don’t know about me; for instance, there are feral cats in my neighborhood. I feed them because I feel sorry for them. They are wild and do not have owners who will take them to the vet for medical check ups, They scrounge for food each day, that seems to be their primary occupation. Many appear haggard and wild eyed, they do not trust anyone within 20 feet of them, but others are more friendly, one in particular comes up to me and rubs against my leg, she will let me scratch her head and purr loudly….I like her the best. But I feed them all whether they come close to me or not….that’s kinda like I feel about all of you out there in cyberspace.
