Women’s JUCO Basketball: NIACC’s Spotts earns 1st-team all-American honors

MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Reggi Spotts has earned NJCAA Division II first-team all-American honors.
Spotts, who prepped at Mason City High, is the first NIACC women’s basketball all-American since Autam Mendez earned first-team honors and Sierra Morrow earned second-team honors in the 2019-20 season. She is the 15th NIACC women’s basketball player to be selected as an all-American.

Senator Doug Campbell says a number of beneficial bills are advancing in the Iowa Legislature

A number of beneficial bills are advancing in the Iowa Legislature as the governing body looks to wrap things up this year, and a budget bill is still being hammered out.

According to Senator Campbell: “A $9.623 billion budget target would leave the state budget with a projected total of $4.8 billion in ending balance, the Taxpayer Relief Fund, and the rainy day funds at the end of FY27. A target of $9.623 billion includes the nearly $100 million in new money for K-12 education passed in earlier in the session and a total increase of $114 million in new spending for the next fiscal year.”
